Nash likes to work with wood that has become worthless: as a result of a storm or weathering. This has led him into a unique and exciting area, an intelligent variation on site-specific art in the traditional sense. Charring serves both conservation and aesthetic mark-making. Nash, who was born in the English county of Surrey, now lives and works in North Wales.
