JüRG STäUBLE
In the Monastery Church from 11.10.2003 to 18.1.2004

Jürg Stäuble familiarized himself over and again with the dimensions and peculiarities of the erstwhile church room and thus developed, as a sculptor of space, a finely-tuned installation. An airy work made of styrofoam was the result, shot through with light and space, “über kreuz” (crossed over). It contrasts – albeit in a different scale – with the very solid Romanesque building and provokes an irritating and novel perception of the space. In addition, the artist exhibited multiples created according to a similar principle.
