MIRIAM CAHN
In the Monastery Church from 3.5.2008 to 26.10.2008

Following exhibitions in Madrid (2003), at the Museum für Gegenwartskunst Basel and the Kirchner Museum Davos (2006), Cahn is now showing a large selection of first-rate works in the monastery church and in the Abbot’s Room. The theme of the exhibition is the “Brutalities Sculpture” she created for the meadow in Schoenthal. Around it an exciting dialogue emerges with works in different techniques and from different phases in her life. To mark the exhibition, the writer Ruth Schweikert, the artist Miriam Cahn and the literary critic Martin Zingg provided contributions for a joint publication. Miriam Cahn was born in 1949 in Basel and today lives mainly in Maloja, Graubünden.
